By Car from New York City

From New York City:
Saw Mill River Parkway to the Taconic State Parkway to Interstate 84 West (Newburgh) to exit 13N (Fishkill). At the bottom of the ramp turn right onto Route 9 North (stay on Route 9 for about 5 miles). On your left, look for Dairy Queen and turn left (from the left turn lane) onto Main Street. Stay right and drive through the village of Wappingers Falls. (Main Street is a winding road that makes a sharp right at the bottom of the hill and then goes uphill again.) At the traffic light immediately after the Sunoco gas station turn left onto Delavergne Ave. which winds uphill past Mt. Alvernia Franciscan Monastery and ends at the stop sign at Sheafe Road. Directly across the street is our driveway, marked by a sign that reads: 245 Kagyu Thubten Chöling.

Alternatively, Sprain Brook Parkway to the Taconic State Parkway to Interstate 84 West (Newburgh) to exit 13N (Fishkill). At the bottom of the ramp turn right onto Route 9 North (stay on Route 9 North for about 4 miles. At the junction for Route 28, make a left turn (from left turn lane) onto 28W (by Toyota/Suburu).

Stay on 28 to the end, about 2 miles. Note that where 28 appears to fork, you'll need to bear right and cross over a small bridge. At the "End 28" sign, make a right turn onto Main Street. (The New Hamburg train station will be on your left.) Continue on Main Street for about 1 mile, then turn left on Sheafe Road. The intersection is just past the deli on your left; you will also see a sign for Bowdoin Park. As you proceed along Sheafe Road, you will pass Bowdoin Park on your left. Shortly before you reach our driveway, you will see a "Reduce Speed Ahead" sign. Our driveway is on the left, directly across from Delavergne Avenue. It is marked by a small wooden sign that reads: 245 Kagyu Thubten Chöling. Proceed toward the Main House, a light yellow building at the end of the driveway. The parking area is located to the right of the Main House.

By Car From New Jersey

Palisades Parkway to Bear Mountain Bridge. Turn left as soon as you get off the bridge onto Route 9-D North. Stay on 9-D for about 45 minutes until it runs into the Village of Wappingers Falls where 9-D turns left and becomes Main Street, Wappingers Falls. Follow Main Street through the village. (Main Street is a winding road that makes a sharp right at the bottom of the hill and then goes uphill again.) At the traffic light immediately after the Sunoco gas station turn left onto Delavergne Ave. which winds uphill past the Franciscan Monastery and ends at the stop sign at Sheafe Road. Directly across the street is our driveway, marked by a sign that reads: 245 Kagyu Thubten Chöling.

By Car from Southwestern New York and New Jersey

New York State Thruway (87 North) to exit 17 at Newburgh. Follow signs to Interstate 84 East over the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Take the first exit immediately after the toll booths. At the top of the ramp turn left onto Route 9-D North for about 6 miles where it runs into and becomes Main Street, Wappingers Falls. Follow Main Street through the village of Wappingers Falls. (Main Street is a winding road that makes a sharp right at the bottom of the hill and then goes uphill again.) At the traffic light immediately after the Sunoco gas station, turn left onto Delavergne Ave. which winds uphill past the Franciscan Monastery and ends at the stop sign at Sheafe Road. Directly across the street is our driveway, marked by a sign that reads: 245 Kagyu Thubten Chöling.

By Car from Canada and Northwestern New York

New York State Thruway (87 South) to exit 18 (New Paltz). Make a right onto Route 299 East to Route 9-W. Turn right onto 9-W South. At Highland, follow signs to the Mid Hudson Bridge. Take the first exit after the Bridge—a right onto Route 9 South for about 5 miles. Make the first right after the Best Western Motel onto Sheafe Road (bear right when the road forks). We are the second driveway on the right, immediately after the Sheafe Road Elementary School across from Delavergne Ave. The sign at our driveway reads: 245 Kagyu Thubten Chöling.

By Car from Northern New England

Interstate 90 to New York State Thruway (87 South) to exit 18 (New Paltz). Make a right onto Route 299 East to Route 9-W. Turn right onto 9-W South.
