Teaching on An Aspiration for the Dharma of the Shangpa Kagyu

August 29 & September 12, 2010 (Sundays)

Lama Norlha Rinpoche will teach on An Aspiration for the Dharma of the Shangpa Kagyu. Written by Dorje Chang Kalu Rinpoche, this aspiration prayer to master the path to enlightenment includes teachings that span from the preliminaries, such as the Four Thoughts and Six Paramitas, to advanced practices such as the Five Golden Dharmas, Six Yogas of Naropa, and Mahamudra.

White Mahakala Empowerment

September 25, 2010 (Saturday)

Lama Norlha Rinpoche will be bestowing the White Mahakala Empowerment. White Mahakala is a powerful deity that emanated from the compassion of Chenrezi to dispel the spiritual and material poverty of sentient beings. White Mahakala practice enhances good fortune in all aspects of life and eliminates obstacles to prosperity and growth.

Both Chinese and English translation will be provided. Refuge is required for those participating in the empowerment and will be offered at the beginning of the empowerment.

Please Note: This empowerment is being offered to the public but is part of a retreat which is not open to the public. In order to respect the retreat protocol, please arrive only 30 minutes before the empowerment for registration and be mindful not to disrupt the retreat schedule.

Once a month, the KTC staff will be engaged in a one-day silent retreat. This retreat will provide an opportunity for resident staff to spend time together in meditation and to rejuvenate.
